Who is “Trad Reformed”?

 It is somewhat difficult to describe yourself when you do not see yourself as a static creature. 

I am a married father of two great sons, with a beautiful wife who’s just trying to grow closer to my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus by exploring the faith that has been given to us.

This is not to say that I am gentle, in fact, where I come from is a place of difficulty and it is a place that has made me bitter, and in the tradition of the Reformation, I am looking to reform myself.

I have a past, but don’t we all. Much of the content here will come from that past, reshaped, reformed for a different audience. This is not to say that I regret my past, but that person has to change and grow, something that I hope will be reflected here.

As that place was a journey of discovery, so will this place be. A place where the faith journey of a person can be dealt with seriously and pointedly, perhaps with a little sarcasm at times to make it all worthwhile, and not forget who I was back then.

Let’s see where it takes us.

En Guard Alex/Brandon begins his defense of his second premise by focusing on "original sin", writing, Original sin, supposedly incurred when Eve are (sic) from the forbidden tree in the garden of Eden, means that every subsequent person inherits some degree of moral culpability as a consequence. That is, everyone is morally blameworthy for the actions of someone who existed before they were born. Introduction Those who deny the authority and reliability of Scripture often appeal to discrepancies between the works that comprise the volume that is colloquially referred to as the Bible. One of the most well known critics of Scripture is the apostate known as Bart Ehrman. What is interesting is that Ehrman has all of the bona fides of a believing scholar having begun at fundamentalist and conservative institutions like Moody Bible Institute, before moving on to Wheaton College, before attending Princeton Theological under the tutelage of the immanent conservative biblical scholar Bruce Metzger. In his apostasy, which he attaches to the problem of evil, he has spent a great deal of time digging into discrepancies and difficulties between the gospels, producing a number of popular-level books severly criticizing believing Christians. Introduction Theologically, I am a Trinitarian both of necessity and of conviction. Part of this is because I was raised to be Trinitarian, but also this is because I have to be able to interact with the revelation of God in and through Scripture. I believe that Scripture teaches us of a God who is completely unique, transcendent and disconnected from human affairs and yet is fundamentally immanent and completely concerned with human beings.  This duality conflict with what one finds in the so-called “God of philosophy”, a God who is distant, emotionally disconnected, unavailable, and unknowable in any real way. Our knowledge of this God is purely by inference. Such a God doesn’t really care about the world or people. This kind of God is fully acceptable to atheists and secularists because it makes no demands upon them.
